Getting to know each other:
We used Nicenet to get acquainted and select topics.  We introduced ourselves through email.  Some have become good friends and chat through IMs or phone.

Content Creation:
We decided the content of the web pages would be on health issues as they relate to us...teenagers.  Health issues were very broad so we narrowed them down to those that we felt were of value or important to us.

December 2005
Researching Topics:
We began researching our selected health issues.
Topics selected were:  Drugs, Depression, Smoking, Fast Food, Video Games, Disasters, Alcohol, and Teen Issues.  We began sharing links through NiceNet to help our 'New Friends' with research.  Questions were posed to each other helping us to narrow our topics.

Surveys:
Creation of surveys on on health issue was next.  Each group had the student body of our school take them.  The data was collected, tallied and published.  The results can be seen inside the project.  We learned that writing a survey was difficult.  It had to be easy enough for everyone to understand without much explanation, multiple choices answers were the easiest to gather and that tallying was almost overwhelming.

Webpage Design:
Webpage construction began when research was completed.  We needed to be able to share our findings with others.  Learning to use a web editor was fun.  It was not much different than word processing and building a presentation.

Publishing:
Webpage construction completed and ready to publish.  Some students learned to ftp to our  GVC website.  Watching the website grow was awesome.  We saw the art work of our new friends, saw a bit into their lives, and learned that though we are different, we are still very much alike.
